So, are you interested in joining the BVFD? If so, please complete this contact form. Our membership coordinator will get in touch with you to help you get the application process started. We hold Orientation sessions at Company 43 (16408 Pointer Ridge Drive) at 7 PM (see the Departmental calendar for dates). Questions about the membership process should be directed to Claudia Ploor or Wendi Howard.
We know that many of you have questions about the new Maryland state law regarding smoke detectors. The Prince George's County Fire & EMS Department has a Frequently Asked Questions page that answers many common questions about the new law. Please check there first for answers to your questions. If you still have questions about the law, please contact us!
All incident reports are maintained by the PGFD, so you need to contact the Information Management Division, which is part of the Prince George's County Fire and EMS Department's Support Services Command. Contact information is available on their website. The Bowie VFD does not have copies of those reports.
We do not rent our training hall for social events, it is only used for training and meeting purposes. The Marlboro Volunteer Fire Department (301-883-7720) and Glenn Dale Volunteer Fire Department (301-883-7718) have halls that are available to rent.
Car seat installations must be performed by state-certified individuals, and unfortunately, we don't have anyone with that certification. A number of local police departments provide that service as part of the PG County Safe Kids program.
The Bowie VFD&RS, Inc. does not -- and never will -- solicit donations by telephone. We never call and ask you to tape your donation to your door for pick-up. We conduct two major fund raising events, a door-to-door Photo Fund Drive in the spring and a Mail Fund Drive in the fall. If you have any questions about our fundraisers please phone our office at 301-809-0122. Thank you for your support!
The Bowie Fire Department, through the dedicated efforts of its members, provides fire education and prevention; fire suppression and rescue; and emergency medical services. These services meet or exceed the expectations of the public and private agencies in order to enhance the quality of life in the City of Bowie.
Operational members, please remember to schedule your shifts using netDuty.
