A number of training opportunities are available to Bowie VFD members:
The Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute offers an extensive schedule of classes in the Southern Maryland Region, which includes Prince George's County. Please see a station officer or your station chief to register for a class.
Students must bring a copy of their IS-100 and IS-700 certificates (see Online Training below), a copy of their CPR card, and a signed Form # 4371, "Issuance of Personal Protective Equipment Request/Agreement". You will not be permitted to begin the class without these materials! Classes start promptly at the times indicated.
Annual fit tests can be scheduled using the online fit testing scheduler.
The Bowie VFD&RS, Inc. does not -- and never will -- solicit donations by telephone. We never call and ask you to tape your donation to your door for pick-up. We conduct two major fund raising events, a door-to-door Photo Fund Drive in the spring and a Mail Fund Drive in the fall. If you have any questions about our fundraisers please phone our office at 301-809-0122. Thank you for your support!
The Bowie Fire Department, through the dedicated efforts of its members, provides fire education and prevention; fire suppression and rescue; and emergency medical services. These services meet or exceed the expectations of the public and private agencies in order to enhance the quality of life in the City of Bowie.
Operational members, please remember to schedule your shifts using netDuty.
